Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and the controls you have. Effective June 12, 2026.

This policy explains how FinishMyDocs.com handles your information. The short version: we collect only what we need to run the service, your documents are private to you, and we do not sell your data.

Data we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and hashed password.
  • Documents: the PDFs you upload and the documents you create, fill, and sign.
  • Payment information: payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never reaches our servers; we receive only the card brand and last four digits, plus transaction records.
  • Usage logs: standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken, used for security and troubleshooting.
  • Contact messages: anything you send us via the contact form or support@finishmydocs.com.

How we use it

We use your information to provide the service (render, store, and deliver your documents), process payments and manage your subscription, send transactional emails such as receipts, signature invitations, and cancellation confirmations, respond to support requests, and keep the service secure. We do not use your documents for advertising, profiling, or training, and we do not send marketing email without your consent.

How documents are stored and who can see them

Your documents are stored privately, outside the public web root, and transferred only over HTTPS. Nobody but you can see your document contents. Our administrators can see metadata (such as file names, sizes, and dates) for operational purposes, but do not open document contents unless you ask for support that requires it — and then only with your request as the basis. Share and signature links are tokenized and expire. More detail is on our security page.

Sharing

We do not sell your data, ever. We share information only with service providers needed to operate FinishMyDocs: Stripe for payment processing, and our email delivery provider for transactional messages (receipts, signature invitations, support replies). These providers process data only on our instructions. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention & deletion

Your documents stay in your account until you delete them from your dashboard, which you can do at any time. If you close your account, we delete your documents and personal information, retaining only what we are legally required to keep (such as billing records) for as long as required.

Cookies & sessions

We use essential cookies only: a session cookie to keep you logged in and a CSRF token to protect forms. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Documents can be deleted directly from your dashboard; for anything else — a copy of your data, account deletion, or a correction — email support@finishmydocs.com and we will handle it promptly.

Children

FinishMyDocs is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice before the change takes effect.
